Borthwick Wairarapa Sauvignon Blanc 2010

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 10-Feb-2011
Fruit from the Borthwick Estate on Dakins Road, Gladstone, cool-fermented to 13.8% alc. and 2.0 g/L rs. Very pale straw-yellow colour with green hues. This has a dense and deep nose of ripe passionfruit and gooseberries, soft but well-concentrated and with some bean-like nuances adding interest. Dry on palate, this has a soft richness and plenty of weight. Ripe melon and passionfruit flavours with some pungency show. The acidity is relatively restrained, yet the wine remains fresh. Drink this over the next 2 years with herb marinated poultry and pork dishes. 17.0+/20 Feb 2011 RRP $23.99
