Boreham Wood ‘Single Vineyard’ Awatere Valley Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 01-Apr-2012
Brilliant, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on rim. This has a fresh, tight but intense nose of gooseberry fruit with a note of pungent passionfruit and a little flinty, minerally lees work. Dry to taste with juicy, mouthwatering and fresh flavours of gooseberries, herbs and sweet capsicums, the palate has tightness and a fine textural line from crisp and racy acidity. The fruit depth and intensity gives subtle body and concentration which carries to a long finish with delicately lush fruit notes. Cool-fermented to 13.5% alc. and 2.6 g/L rs, 50% of the wine left on lees for 3 months. A finely featured and elegant Sauvignon Blanc with stylishly lush gooseberry flavours to match with seafood, salads and vegetables over the next 2-3 years. 18.0/20 Apr 2012 RRP $21.00
