Boreham Wood ‘Single Vineyard’ Awatere Valley Marlborough Riesling 2014

Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 25-Jun-2015
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues. This has a very delicate and tightly bound nose of white florals and lime fruit along with subtle herbal detail and some minerally reduction. The aromatics are fresh, poised and youthful. Sweet to taste and light-bodied, the fruit flavours of limes and florals are entwined with subtle mineral nuances. The palate is mouthwatering, with posed and lacy acidity and the wine flows smoothly along a very fine-textured line. Nuances of lifted florals and citrus fruits unfold, along with a toasty suggestion and lead to a rich, lingering finish. This is a tight and elegantly bound medium-sweet Riesling with lime, floral and minerally flavours. It will develop greater interest over the next 5+ years. Riesling fruit cool-fermented to 8.6% alc. and 43 g/L RS, TA 7.4 g/L and pH 2.92, the wine aged on gross lees for 8 months. 17.0/20 Jun 2015 RRP $21.00
