Boreham Wood ‘Single Vineyard’ Awatere Valley Marlborough Pinot Noir 2014

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 25-Jun-2015
Even ruby-red colour, lighter on the rim with youthful purple hues. The nose is elegantly expressed with fresh, aromatic dark raspberry fruit aromas lifted by red and violet florals. Savoury herbal elements, spice and pepper unfold with aeration. Medium-bodied, the palate features juicy and plush, bright raspberry fruit flavours, enlivened by bright acidity. Delicate herbal and floral elements add detail to the palate. The mouthfeel is supple, accessible and easy with light, modest tannin extraction and grip. This has a good fruit core with depth, which carries the fruit sweetness to a moderately long finish with raspberry, cherry and herbal notes. This is a bright, juicy, lively and accessible Pinot Noir with raspberry and herbal fruit flavours. Match with poultry and pork over the next 3 years. Clone 5 fruit from a single Awatere Valley vineyard, given a cold soak and fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 9 months in barrel. (Also bottled as Clark Estate Marlborough Pinot Noir 2014.) 16.5+/20 Jun 2015 RRP $29.95
