Boreham Wood ‘Single Vineyard’ Awatere Valley Marlborough Pinot Gris 2011

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 01-Apr-2012
Soft straw-yellow colour with a faint blush, pale on rim. The aromatics are fresh, intense and youthful, showing white florals with delicate herb notes, lifted with fermentation esters. Off-dry, this is finely presented and elegant in weight, with pure floral and white peach flavours, lifted with youthful esters. Simply expressed, this is clean and soft textured, with slippery, racy acidity. This has depth and a core that leads to a crisp, long finish of delicately succulent honied and floral elements. This is a crisp and fine Pinot Gris with floral characters to match Thai, Japanese and Vietnamese cuisine over the next 3+ years. Fermented to 13.6% alc. and 5.9 g/L rs, the wine was given a small amount of lees contact. 17.0/20 Apr 2012 RRP $22.50
