Bonpas ‘Dom Herbert’ Chateauneuf du Pape 2010

Grenache from France - Rhone
Review Date : 11-Apr-2012
Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre fermented to 14.5% alc. Dark ruby-red colour with black hues. This has a shy bouquet with elegant aromatics of soft raspberry fruits with sour cherry fruit emerging along with pepper and earth nuances adding interest. Medium-full bodied, this has softly penetrating, fresh raspberry fruit flavours alongside herb, pepper and meaty notes, with good depth and concentration. Soft grainy textures provide a good palate line, the acidity in balance. The finish is dry and firm with a touch of bitter herb. This is a full-bodied, soft Chateauneuf du Pape with elegant fruit intensity and tannin grip. Serve with slow cooked game meat over the next 4-5+ years. 16.5/20 Apr 2012 RRP $N/A
