Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2010

Chardonnay from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 26-May-2013
Bright straw-yellow colour with some depth, pale on rim. The nose is very fresh and vibrant, with concentrated white stonefruits, citrus and lifted florals, underlined by a chalky thread of flinty complexity. The aromatics speak of youth and a little classy austerity. Medium-bodied, the palate combines richness and vitality, lusciousness and crisp acidity. Beautifully defined and linear flavours of citrus fruit, florals, and stonefruits show sweetness, balanced by the near racy acidity. This is tightly concentrated through mid-palate and possesses real drive and zest. Oaking is very much in balance, quite unobtrusive. The flavours are carried by a very fine textural line to a long, lingering finish with some reductive flinty complexities. This is a very fresh and aromatic Corton-Charlemagne with bright, lively acidity and tightly bound stonefruit flavours. This has ‘puissance’. 8-10years. 19.0/20 May 2013 RRP $245.00
