Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2008

Chardonnay from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 26-May-2013
Bright straw-yellow colour with light golden hints. This has a full, densely packed nose, with a firm and complex core of savoury nutty flavours, ripe yellow stonefruits and plenty of complex, flinty notes. Full-bodied, this is solidly presented on palate with lush and fleshy flavours of savoury apricots and an array of yellow stonefruits and citrus fruit. Complex waves of mealy, biscuit flavours and nuts underline the fruit richness. This has a stolid robustness to the mouthfeel, but there is plenty of acidity and liveliness that carries the flavours to a long, lush finish. The matchstick reduction is powerful, but integral with the fruit here. This is up-front, bold and robust, with a full range of flavours. This Corton-Charlemagne will continue to develop over the next 5-6+ years. 19.0-/20 May 2013 RRP $235.00
