Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2005

Chardonnay from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 26-May-2013
Full, light straw-yellow colour with hints of gold, lighter on rim. This has a full and generous bouquet, packed and concentrated with stonefruits, mealy, biscuit, flint and nutty aromas all interwoven with power, yet there remains a degree of finesse and elegance. Fullish bodied, this is fulsome, smooth and lush on palate with rich, seamless entwined flavours of hazelnuts, citrus and steel along with savoury tropical fruit nuances. The mouthfeel is open and full, with richness the feature, but power and acid cut underline the palate, with the finest textural line guiding flavours. This has a completeness and harmony. The flavours are carried to a very long and sustained finish with nutty nuances. This Corton-Charlemagne is rich, generous and quite complete. Coming into its own, it should hold well over the next 6-8+ years. 19.5/20 May 2013 RRP $265.00
