Pale colour with very fine bubbles, moderate persistence. The nose is full and voluminous, quite open and accessible, but with structure, showing white and yellow stonefruits and plenty of broad autolysis and delicate aldehyde and oxidative complexities. Dry to dryish to taste, this is full and softly mouthfilling with rich yellow stonefruits, showing the Pinot Noir, balanced mouthfeel and size, with subtle grip, and a core of bready-yeasty autolysis and a layering of aldehyde and lesser oxidative suggestions. The structure is balanced by excellent freshness. Very fine textured finish. A blend of 60% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Meunier, over 85% from grand and premier crus sites, 8-9 g/L dosage. 18.5/20 Jul 2017 RRP $110.00 A blend of 60% PN, 25% Ch and 15% PM with a dosage of 7-9 g/L, this is a blend of the previous 3-4 vintages with reserve wine ranging from 5-15 years. Soft, light straw-yellow with a very fine, persistent bead, this has a full, solid and robust nose showing the depth and size of Pinot Noir fruit and complex autolysis aldehyde and nutty, oxidative nuances. On palate this has impressive intensity and concentration allied to volume of flavour. Citrus fruit, nuts, and bready flavours all show with power, resulting in a soft, creamy texture, but the wine retains excellent liveliness and freshness in the mousse, providing essential balance. This mature flavours of the reserve wine are evident in this release and exemplify the Bollinger style.  Aug 2011
