Bollinger Champagne Rosé NV

Sparkling Wine from France - Champagne
Review Date : 04-Jul-2017
Bright peach pink, moderately fine, but with vigorous bead, youthful appearance. This is full of excellent red florals and red fruits intermingling with yellow stonefruits, all underlined by fine and complexing bready-yeasty autolysis. Refined, and beautifully refreshing, with aromatic beauty. On palate the freshness of perfumes, and fruit aromatics are the feature. Clean and clear, with purity and poised acid freshness, along with subtle textures allow the gorgeous fruit to feature. A wine to dance with and throw caution to the wind. Just enjoy its deliciousness, there’s no need to analyse this. A blend of 62% Pinot Noir, 24% Chardonnay and 14% Pinot Meunier, 5-6 % added as red wine, from over 85% grand and premier cru vineyards, 7-8 g/L dosage. 19.0/20 Jul 2017 RRP $145.00 This is ‘Special Cuvee' with the addition of red wine. 62% PN, 24% Ch and 14% PM including 5% red wine, with 7-9 g/L dosage, this has a very pale pink-salmon colour with hues of golden-straw. The nose is soft, elegant and very harmonious with gentle bready autolysis, nutty oxidative notes and fine, soft red fruit aromas. There is freshness with complexity, resulting in a subtlety of style. On palate, the wine is softly textured with very fine effervescence and an integrated, delicately flavoured palate of red fruit, stonefruits and nutty, bready elements, underlined by crisp, fresh acidity. A very elegant rosé from Bollinger.  Aug 2011
