Bohemian ‘The Poet’ Hawke’s Bay Pinot Gris 2017

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 21-Mar-2018
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, very light edged. The nose is softly full with aromas of white stonefruits and subtle notes of pears, along with white florals and suggestions of nuts and minerals. This is elegantly concentrated and shows good depth. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has a softly concentrated and rich heart of white stonefruit flavours entwined with notes of pears and florals, revealing nutty elements, and a little smoke. The fruit richness is enhanced by crisp acidity and the palate has gently textured, mouthfilling flavours. The wine carries softly to a light, nuanced finish. This is a gently rich and concentrated dry Pinot Gris with stonefruit, floral, pear and nutty flavours on a fresh palate. Match with most white meat dishes over the next 2-3 years. A blend of two picks of fruit, both WBP direct to barrel, 50% undergoing indigenous yeast fermentation to 13.0% alc. and 4-5 g/L RS, the wine aged 5 months on lees in seasoned oak. Winemaker: Julianne Brogden. 17.5/20 Mar 2018 RRP $22.00
