Bohemian Southern Wairau Valley Marlborough Pinot Gris 2010

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 03-Oct-2011
Fruit from 8 y.o. vines in ‘Baldies Block' in the ‘Karamea' vineyard, fermented to 14.0% alc. and 6 g/L rs, the wine given lees stirring. Bright straw-yellow colour with lemon-green hues and a pale edge. Full on bouquet with good density, there are aromas of ripe pears and yellow stonefruits and complexing savoury and flinty elements. Off-dry, this is full-bodied with warm, ripe pear flavours and savoury stonefruit kernel notes forming a solid core. The alcoholic weight and gentle acidity contribute to the round mouthfeel, mild textures and soft sweetness through the palate. Flinty lees notes mark the smooth, dry finish. A soft, generous wine to serve with subtle Asian cuisine over the next 3-4 years. 17.0/20 Oct 2011 RRP $23.95
