Bodegas Muriel ‘Vina Eguia’ Rioja Rosado 2015

Rose from Spain
Review Date : 08-Aug-2016
Bright, peach-pink colour with some depth, lighter on the rime with ‘eye of partridge’ hues. The nose is fresh and light, slightly reserved with aromas of strawberries, cranberries, watermelon and pomegranate, the aromatics forming a solid and rounded core, building in presence. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate possesses fruit richness, showing strawberries along with cranberries, pomegranate and a suggestion of pastille confectionary. The mouthfeel is rounded with good weight and presence, enlivened by crisp, refreshing acidity, revealing some phenolic textures and grip as it flows. Bright aromatics are carried throughout the palate and lead to a fresh, light, sweet-fruited finish. This is a moderately rich rosé with good presence, freshness and grip. Serve with tapas and antipasto over the next 2 years. 80% Tempranillo and 20% Garnacha given 8 hours skin contact and cool-fermented to 13.5% alc. and approx. 2 g/L RS. 17.0/20 Aug 2016 RRP $20.99
