Bodegas Luzon ‘Tellus’ Jumilla Reserva 2005

Mourvedre from Spain
Review Date : 18-May-2011
A blend of Monastrell, Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine then aged 12 months in French and American oak. Full, dark ruby-red in colour, with some garnet hues on rim, this has an elegant, subtle nose of soft red berry and plum fruits with some sour-cherry complexities and some oak cedar, all in good balance and showing some integration. Medium-full bodied on palate, this is a tightly constructed wine with sweet earthy red fruits, sour-cherry, cedar and milk chocolate flavours, framed within fine-featured extraction. At present the wine is a little shy, but it should unfold more over the next 5-7+ years. Match with roasted red meat. 17.0+/20 May 2011 RRP $18.99
