Bodegas Luzon ‘Tellus’ Jumilla Crianza 2006

Mourvedre from Spain
Review Date : 18-May-2011
Full, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour, this has an intense bouquet of savoury, sour-cherry fruit, a little warm and baked, tending to rusticity. A fulsome and robust wine on palate, this has rich sour-cherry fruit flavours with rounded, but substantial tannins forming an overall firm structure. The acidity is low and the sweetness of the fruit on the finish suggests some residual sugar present. A traditional-styled wine that will match Middle Eastern cuisine with lamb, goat and beef over the next 3-4+ years. Named after ‘Tellus', the Romas goddess of the earth. A blend of Monastrell, Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 6 months in French and American oak. 15.5/20 May 2011 RRP $18.99
