Bodegas Luzon ‘Seleccion 12′ Jumilla Crianza 2005

Mourvedre from Spain
Review Date : 18-May-2011
Full, dark, ruby-garnet colour. This has an intense, attractively refined bouquet with ripe dark berry fruit aromas lifted with spicy, cedary oak. Medium-full bodied, this has rich, intense lusciously ripe dark fruit flavours lifted by spice, char and toast elements from the oak. The tannins are fine-grained and there is sufficient acidity for brightness, tension and length, resulting in a well-proportioned wine capable of being kept 6-9+ years. A blend of Monastrell, Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine then aged 12 months in 80% French and 20% American oak barrels. Drink this modern-styled red with roasted or grilled lamb or venison. 18.0-/20 May 2011 RRP $25.99
