Bodegas Luzon ‘Carmina Luna’ Monastrell/Cabernet Sauvignon NV

Mourvedre from Spain
Review Date : 18-May-2011
A blend of Monastrell and Cabernet Sauvignon fruit from the Jumilla region fermented to 15.0% alc., bottled with no oak maturation. Deepish ruby-garnet red in colour, this has a soft, full, but gentle nose of up-front, savoury, ripe dark red berry fruits with a little earthiness. This is a hearty, warming red on palate with good dark berry fruit flavours, some alcohol heat and soft, modestly extracted tannins which allow a sweet, jammy fruit burst on the finish. A big, softie that will drink well over the winter months with roast meat dishes. Lot No. 1165002. 16.0/20 May 2011 RRP $12.99
