Bodegas La Purisima ‘Old Hands’ Yecla Monastrell Joven 2014

Mourvedre from Spain
Review Date : 22-Nov-2015
Dark, deep ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues, lighter edged. The nose is tightly bound and firmly packed with light, but bright, primary, dark raspberry and red berry fruit aromas, revealing a firm core of subtle herb, nutty and earthy, mineral detail. This is uncomplicated in expression. Medium-full bodied, the palate features a firm and concentrated core of sweet, dark raspberry fruit entwined with herbal, nutty and minerally detail. The mouthfeel is fresh and bright, the palate enlivened by brisk acidity, and showing light grainy tannin structure. The core has linearity and carries to a densely packed, long and sustained, lively finish of raspberries, black fruits, herbs, earth and minerals. This is a fresh, bright, juicy, raspberry-fruited Yecla with a lively mouthfeel. Match with pork, lamb and beef over the next 3+ years. Monastrell fermented to 14.5% alc. Certified Agricultura UE Organic. 16.5+/20 Nov 2015 RRP $18.99
