Bodegas Fontana ‘Mesta’ Ucles Tempranillo Rosé 2014

Rose from Spain
Review Date : 06-Apr-2015
Bright, pale purple-pink colour, lighter on rim, and youthful in appearance. The nose is fresh with good intensity of bright raspberry fruit aromas intermixed with refreshing herbal and mineral notes and aromatic red florals and confectionary elements. Off-dry to taste, up-front and easy, bright and juicy raspberry fruit flavours feature on a lively, mouthwatering palate. This has some depth and a core that opens to reveal cherry and confectionary notes, the wine following a fine-textured line. The wine has vinosity and carries to a dry, light, lingering cherryish finish. This is a bright, juicy, easy and accessible, refreshing rosé with raspberry and cherry confectionary flavours. Serve as an aperitif, with tapas and charcuterie over the next 2 years. 100% Tempranillo from the Ucles region given 8 hours skin contact and 30% saignee juice added, then cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. and <6 g/L RS. Certified SHC organic. 17.5-/20 Apr 2015 RRP $17.99
