Bodegas Castano Yecla Rosado Monastrell 2013

Rose from Spain
Review Date : 08-Jan-2015
Full, even, garnet-pink colour, lighter on rim. The nose shows good depth of fresh and ripe cranberry, redcurrant and raspberry fruit aromas, unfolding somesubtle, savoury herb and earthy notes in the glass. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features mouthwatering flavours of cranberries, redcurrants and watermelon, along with subtle herb elements. The mouthfeel is soft in texture with a little textural thread underlining the fruit and the wine has a slippery flow with soft, lacy acidity. The flavours carry to a gently rich finish with good presence and moderate length. This is a soft, slippery, mouthwatering rosé with red fruit flavours. Match with tapas and Mediterranean fare over the next 12 months. 90% Monastrell, 5% Garnacha and 5% Syrah from 30 y.o. vines, given 4 hours maceration and fermented to 13.0% alc. and 2.4 g/L RS. 17.0-/20 Jan 2015 RRP $17.00
