Bodegas Castano ‘Dominio Espinal Seleccion’ Yecla 2009

Mourvedre from Spain
Review Date : 14-Jun-2012
A single estate wine, 80% Monastrell with 10% each Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 4 months in oak. Deep ruby-red colour, this is expressed with linearity on bouquet, fresh and tight dark red berry fruits. Similarly on palate with fresh, clean and pure red berry fruits and a little minerally edge. Softly textured with good acidity underpinning the fruit, the tannins quite modest. An individual, smaller-scale and elegant style.   16.0+/20  Jun 2012  RRP $18.90
