Bodegas Borsao ‘Seleccion’ Campo de Borja 2009

Grenache from Spain
Review Date : 25-Jun-2011
Very full, dark ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues. This has a powerful, dense and concentrated nose of dark red and black fruits, cassis, graphite and earth, along with notes of herbs. Full-bodied at 14.0% alc., this is a rich and reasonably robust, but balanced wine packed with rich, sweet raspberry and blackberry fruit flavours along with spices and pepper. The tannins are almost chewy and along with the low acidity contribute to a dry finish. 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Tempranillo from 15-30 y.o. vines, in Campo de Borja, Aragon. Serve with grilled and roasted red meat over the next 5-7 years. 17.5+/20 Jun 2011 RRP $22.95
