Bodegas Borsao ‘Monte Oton’ Campo de Borja 2014

Grenache from Spain
Review Date : 05-Oct-2015
Full, very dark, black-hued ruby-red colour with slight purple on the edge. This has an elegantly fragrant and ethereal nose with lifted aromas of raspberries, red cherries and florals, along with nuances of jam and earth, unfolding hints of raspberry liqueur. Medium-full bodied, the fruit is restrained in expression, showing dark raspberries and cherries along with harmoniously entwined fruit pastille whole berry fermentation notes. This has good vinous presence and the mouthfeel is smooth and satin-like. Fine-grained, light tannins underline the fruit and soft acidity lends energy as the wine flows to a lush and juicy finish of raspberries. This is a smooth and gently luscious Garnacha with juicy raspberry flavours. Match with most red meat dishes and Mediterranean fare over the next 3+ years. 100% Garnacha from Moncayo, from vines 15-25 y.o., fermented to 14.5% alc. 16.5+/20 Oct 2015 RRP $21.99
