Bodegas Borsao Campo de Borja Garnacha 2013

Grenache from Spain
Review Date : 12-May-2014
85% Garnacha, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Tempranillo, fermented to 13.5% alc. Very full, near impenetrable black-red colour with youthful purple hues on edge. The bouquet is soft and restrained with aromas of ripe dark red berry fruit lifted by violet perfumes and some jam and confectionary elements harmoniously interwoven, the nose revealing some subtle stalk and herbal notes in the glass. Medium-bodied, tight and elegantly proportioned flavours of ripe, aromatic black fruits, herbs and whole berry confectionary elements form a fine-textured core. The extraction is fine and allows the fruit sweetness to feature and flow easily to a dry, smooth finish with some length. This is an elegant Campo de Borja red with fine extraction and smooth flow. Match with roasted red meats and hard cheeses over the next 4+ years. 17.0+/20 May 2014 RRP $19.99
