Bodega de Pinoso ‘Vergel’ Alicante 2014

Other Red from Spain
Review Date : 22-Nov-2015
Very dark, deep, black-hued purple-red colour, lighter on rim and very youthful in appearance. The nose is softly full with ripe fruit aromas of dark red plums, dark raspberries and blackberries forming a soft, densely packed core. The nose unfolds layers of sweet jammy elements and subtle earth and mineral detail in the glass. Medium-full bodied, plush, juicy, sweetly rich flavours of bright, primary dark raspberry fruit and blackberry notes are entwined with plum jam and nuances of black minerals. The mouthfeel is supple with fine-grained, flowery tannins and extraction supporting the fruit. The structure grows in firmness and along with fresh acidity, carries the wine to a juicy, fine-textured finish of raspberries and blackberries. This is a plush, juicy dark raspberry-fruited Alicante with jammy notes and grainy tannins. Match with barbecued and grilled red meat dishes over the next 3-4 years. A blend of 75% Alicante Bouschet, 20% Monastrell and 5% Merlot fermented to 14.5% alc. Certified Agricultura UE Organic. 17.5-/20 Nov 2015 RRP $21.99
