Blind River Awatere Valley Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 09-Oct-2013
Brilliant pale straw-green colour, pale on edge. The bouquet is very elegant with tightly bound, delicate and fine aromas of passionfruit that grow in intensity, unfolding subtle savoury detail. Dry to taste and elegantly proportioned, tightly bound flavours of pungent passionfruit, herbs and minerals form a crisp, cutting line. Crisp, racy acidity provides vitality and energy, and the mouthfeel is mouthwatering and slippery. The refined palate flows with good tension, leading to a very long, sustained and delicately nuanced finish with passionfruit and minerals. This is an elegant and delicate Sauvignon Blanc with a refreshing, cutting passionfruit and mineral flavours. Serve as an aperitif and with fine Asian cuisine over the next 2 years. Fruit cool-fermented in stainless-steel with 10% in seasoned French oak barriques to 13.5% alc. and 3.4 g/L RS, the wine aged 3 months on lees. 8,000 cases made. 17.5/20 Oct 2013 RRP $27.00
