Bladen Marlborough Pinot Noir 2012

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 02-Oct-2014
Ruby-red colour with light garnet hues on rim and a little bricking. This has a light bouquet of soft savoury strawberry fruit with gently interwoven nuances of dried herbs and earth lifted by some red floral nuances. Medium-bodied, the palate is slender in presentation with an amalgam of soft, strawberry fruit with dried herb, stalk and spice elements. The tannins appear modest in extraction and are supple, providing the mouthfeel with accessibility. The fruit sweetness grows through the mid-palate along with spicy interest, and the structure and line become more prevalent, carrying the wine to a dry, moderately long finish. This is a light Pinot Noir with soft, savoury red fruit and floral flavours and some structure. Serve with firm-fleshed seafood and poultry over the next 3-4 years. Hand-picked fruit from the ‘Bladen’ vineyard, destemmed and fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 15 months in French oak barriques. 16.0+/20 Oct 2014 RRP $33.00
