Bladen Marlborough Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 02-Oct-2014
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, pale edged. The nose is delicate with fresh white stonefruit and exotic floral aromas, along with hints of honeysuckle and lifted by fermentation esters. Off-dry to taste and light-bodied, the fruit flavours of stonefruits, florals, honey and spices are restrained and a little shy. The mouthfeel is elegant with fine, dry textures and light, underlying acidity providing linearity to the palate. This has a positive, vinous core. The wine has energy and brightness, and the flavours flow to a delicate, nuanced finish. This is a delicate off-dry Pinot Gris with a positive flowing palate. Match with seafood and subtle Asian fare over the next 2-3 years. Hand-picked fruit from the ‘Bladen’ vineyard, WBP and cool-fermented in tank to 13.0% alc. and 7.0 g/L RS, the wine aged 3 months on lees. 16.5+/20 Oct 2014 RRP $25.00
