Bladen Marlborough Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 04-Sep-2013
Bright, very pale straw colour with very pale hints of green, near colourless on rim. The nose is tightly bound with pure white floral aromatics laced with hints of spice, roses and pears. The nose has a concentrated core, and unfolds flinty lees elements in the glass. Dryish to taste and light-bodied, attractively aromatic white stonefruit and florals fruit flavours combine with pear elements, and the palate reveals a subtle sweetness and richness. The mouthfeel is fresh from good acidity, and shows a discreet nature. The flavours recede slowly, carrying through to a gentle, light-textured, dry finish. This is a light and nuanced, dryish Pinot Gris with fine textures and gentle spiced floral character. Match with fine Asian cuisine over the next 3-4 years. Conders Bend Road fruit, hand-picked and WBP, cool-fermented in tank to 13.0% alc. and 5.7 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees 3 months. 17.5/20 Sep 2013 RRP $25.00
