Blackwood Canterbury Pinot Noir 2013

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 17-Jun-2014
Even ruby-red colour with moderate depth, lighter on rim. This has a gently full and voluminous nose of ripe and aromatic, dark raspberry and red cherry fruits entwined with subtle herbal and spice notes, the bouquet revealing red floral nuances with aeration. Medium-full bodied, full and lively dark red berry fruits show with good depth and sweetness. The palate is underlined by fine, grainy tannins providing good texture, presence and grip, and enlivened by fresh, lacy acidity, enhancing the fruit sweetness and aromatics. The acidity and tannins carry through to a moderately long, dry finish with liquorice and spice elements. This is a bright and sweet-fruited Pinot Noir with grainy tannins and fresh, racy acidity. Match with poultry, pork and lamb dishes over the next 4-5 years. 17.5-/20 Jun 2014 RRP $20.00
