Blackenbrook ‘Reserve’ Nelson Chardonnay 2009

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 16-Jun-2011
Brilliant light golden-yellow colour with a pale edge, this has a very full, rich and powerful nose of ripe stonefruits with mealy, tropical fruit notes, and bold nutty, spicy oak. Full-flavoured on the palate, this shows ripe citrus and tropical fruit flavours, quite rich, lush and opulent in expression. The oaking is powerful, adding breadth and sweet vanilla elements. This is a very warm, generous and upfront style that will be a match with pork belly and rich white meat dishes over the next 4-5 years. Mendoza, 2/23 and 15 clones from the ‘Home' block, fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 12 months in new 500L French barrels and American barriques. 17.5+/20 Jun 2011 RRP $31.00
