Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues. The nose is very elegant and refined, with tightly bound aromas of gooseberry fruit with tropical fruit nuances, along with notes of limes and green apples harmoniously interwoven. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, bright and lively, succulently juicy flavours of gooseberries, florals, limes and tropical fruits are tightly bound, providing a finely concentrated core. This is finely textured with fresh, lacy acidity brightening the mouthfeel, enhancing the fruit sweetness. The wine flows with good energy, following a fine phenolic line leading to a long, succulent, racy finish. This is a racy and zesty, succulent Sauvignon Blanc with gooseberry and subtle topical fruit flavours. Serve as an aperitif and with Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from the Wairau and Awatere Valleys, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 3 g/L RS, the wine aged 3 months on fine lees. 18.0/20 Nov 2014 RRP $19.99
