Black Cottage Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 25-Aug-2014
Bright, very pale straw colour with green hues, near colourless on rim. The nose is refined and tightly bound with lifted passionfruit aromas revealing green apples and limes. The fruit is fresh and thirst-quenching with a minerally cut. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the flavours of passionfruit, limes and minerals are tightly bound and slender in expression. The mouthfeel is fresh, crisp and racy from enlivening acidity, and the palate follows a very fine, dry-textured phenolic line. The palate is well-balanced with pungent passionfruit sweetness at the core carrying the wine to a long, lingering, mouth-wateringly dry finish. This is a tight and elegantly crisp, refreshing Sauvignon Blanc with passionfruit and lime flavours. Serve as an aperitif and with seafood over the next 2 years. Fruit from the Wairau, Southern and Awatere Valleys, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 3.0 g/L RS. 17.5/20 Aug 2014 RRP $16.99
