Black Cottage Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 29-Aug-2011
Very pale straw colour with a near colourless edge, this is very youthful in appearance. This has a very fresh and lively, pungent bouquet of passionfruit, gooseberries and minerals, with good depth, the aromatics still tightly bound. Dry on palate, the flavours are tight and restrained, providing an elegance to the expression. Crisp, zingy acidity is a feature and contributes a juiciness to the passionfruit, gooseberry, and steely, mineral flavours. Fruit from the Wairau and Awatere Valleys in approx. equal portions, cool stainless-fermented to 13.0% alc. and 2.8 g/L rs. This will unfold and become richer over the next 2+ years. Match with seafood, poultry and creamy cheeses. 17.0+/20 Aug 2011 RRP $18.00
