Black Cottage Marlborough Pinot Noir 2013

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 22-Jan-2014
Moderately full and deep, dark ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues. The nose is fresh with accessible, ripe, dark raspberry fruit aromas intermixed with dark red florals and lifted whole berry confectionary nuances. Medium-full bodied, up-front, primary, juicy flavours of dark raspberries with some underlying fresh herbal elements feature on the front palate. This is sweet with mouthwatering acid providing balance and enhancing the aromatic expression. The palate is modestly extracted with light, supple tannins in support. The acidity carries the flavours which gently recede to a light, dry finish. This is an aromatic, up-front, juicy and mouthwatering Pinot Noir. Serve with antipasto, poultry and pasta dishes over the next 3 years. Clone 114 from 12 y.o. vines from a single site in the central Wairau Valley, fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 6 months in seasoned French oak and equivalents. 16.5+/20 Jan 2014 RRP $24.00
