Black Cottage Marlborough Pinot Gris 2016

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 31-Aug-2016
Bright straw-yellow colour with a suggestion of blush, pale edged. The nose is soft and gently full with stylish aromas of yellow stonefruits with nuances of rose-petal and exotic florals and subtle fermentation esters elements providing perfume. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has a rounded core with flavours of ripe yellow stonefruits entwined with delicate notes of tropical fruits and exotic florals. The acidity is soft, adding to the fruit richness. The fruit flavours ae moderated by light and fine, dry phenolic textures, and the wine carries with good line to a light, aromatic finish. This is a soft, dry Pinot Gris with stonefruit flavours and exotic floral notes, with gentle textures. Match with Asian fare over the next 2+ years. Marlborough fruit cool-fermented to 13.0% alc. and 4.2 g/L RS, the wine aged 6 weeks on fine lees. 17.0-/20 Aug 2016 RRP $18.00
