Black Cottage Marlborough Pinot Gris 2012

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 05-Oct-2012
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with a faint blush, pale on rim. The bouquet is very light with fresh, lifted confectionary aromas, a little honey and cool, steely red florals. Dry to taste and light-weighted, clean, fresh flavours of strawberries intermingle with honeysuckle elements. Crisp and zingy with good acidity, this has an attractive vinous mouthfeel with a palate line that leads to a clean, light, lifted aromatic finish with moderately sustained pear flavours. This is a clean, fresh Pinot Gris with subtle red berry flavours similar to rosé-style wines. Serve with charcuterie and antipasto over the next 2 years. Pinot Gris fruit given some skin contact and fermented to 13.0% alc. and 4.4 g/L rs, the wine aged on lees for 3 months. 16.0+/20 Oct 2012 RRP $18.00
