Black Barn ‘Single Vineyard’ Hawke’s Bay Riesling 2008

Riesling from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 14-Sep-2011
Bright straw-yellow colour with green-gold hues, this has a full, voluminous nose of complex savoury, mineral and nutty aromas, showing some secondary development interest. Medium-sweet, this is a light-weight wine with gentle mineral and honey flavours along with savoury, toasty, nutty notes, tending ‘sweet and sour'. Layers of subtle flavours unfold, the soft palate underlined by good acid tension. Estate fruit from the Havelock Hills, with some botrytis influence, fermented to 10.5% alc. and 16 g/L rs. Match with Thai and Malaysian dishes over the next 4-5 years. 16.5+/20 Sep 2011 RRP $25.90
