Bright, light orange colour with some depth, lighter on the rim. The nose is soft, rounded and full with well-concentrated aromas, showing a complex array of exotic tropical and citrus fruits along with savoury apricot and yellow stonefruits, and spice notes, unveiling yellow and orange floral elements with aeration. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate is soft, dense and gently mouthfilling with flavours of ripe tropical fruits, savoury citrus fruits and apricots, along with layers of spice and florals. The mouthfeel is weighty and soft from low acidity and gentle, grainy phenolic textures provide the structure and line, carrying the wine to a long, lingering complex finish of savoury citrus, stonefruit and tropical fruit flavours. This is a soft, fulsome, complex Orange wine with savoury citrus, stonefruit and tropical fruit flavours along with spice nuances and a soft, grainy mouthfeel. Match with rich poultry, pork and veal dishes over the next 4+ years. Pinot Gris from a single site in the Havelock Hills, given 28 days skin contact with pigeage 3 times daily during active ferment and once a day until cap down, fermented with full solids to 13.5% alc. and <3 g/L RS, aged in seasoned oak with full MLF. 18.0+/20 Sep 2016 RRP $38.00
