Black Barn Hawke’s Bay Rosé 2015

Rose from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 25-Oct-2015
Bright, very pale salmon-pink colour, pale on rim. The nose is very fresh and tightly bound with delicate aromas of strawberries and red florals, along with cranberry nuances. The fruit is pure and expressed with clarity, revealing a suggestion of minerals in the glass. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, the fruit is subtle and delicate with strawberries and red floral elements, along with cranberry nuances. The mouthfeel is refreshingly crisp, racy and steely, with slippery, mouthwatering acidity. The wine flows smoothly with underlying energy and tension, following a very fine-textured line, leading to a brisk, dry, thirst-quenching finish of red fruits and floral notes. This is a crisp, slippery and racy dry rosé with delicate strawberry and red floral flavours. Serve as an aperitif, with antipasto and tapas over the next 18 months to 2 years. 100% Merlot from the Havelock Hills, with no time on skins apart from transport from vineyard to winery, cool-fermented to 12.5% alc. and <3.0 g/L RS. 17.0+/20 Oct 2015 RRP $22.90
