Black Barn Hawke’s Bay Pinot Noir 2010

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 14-Sep-2011
Light ruby-red colour with pale garnet hues on edge. This has a moderately full, soft red berry and dried herb nose with notes of pepper and truffle. Medium full-bodied, the soft, lush red berry, strawberry and savoury herb and mushroom flavours are underlined by elevated, racy acidity. The palate is moderately structured with soft, supple tannins, which allow the fruit expression to feature. The acidity carries the fruit core and provides a lifted cherry fruit nuanced finish. Fruit from Central Hawke's Bay, vines less than 5 y.o., 10% whole bunch, fermented to 13.5% alc, the wine aged in 1 y.o. French oak for 7 months. A lively wine in the cooler spectrum to match with mushroomy duck and pork dishes over the next 4-5 years. 16.5/20 Sep 2011 RRP $32.90
