Bisquertt ‘Petirrojo’ Reserva’ Colchagua Valley Merlot 2013

Merlot from Chile
Review Date : 12-Aug-2014
85% Merlot and 15% Carmenere from 12 y.o. vines, fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 4-6 months in French oak. Very dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour with light purple hues on rim. The nose is moderately deep with fresh and bright redcurrant and dark red plum fruit aromas along with herbal nuances. This is up-front and fruit focussed, showing some red floral lift. Medium-full bodied, plush, juicy and uncomplicated red plum fruit flavours are entwined with currant and herbal notes. The mouthfeel is fresh and lively with good acidity, and supple from light tannin extraction, the wine flowing softly to a mellow finish. This is a clean, fresh, juicy-fruited, supple Merlot with plum and curranty flavours. Serve with pasta, pizza and risotto over the next 3+ years. 16.5+/20 Aug 2014 RRP $24.95
