Bisquertt ‘Petirrojo’ Reserva’ Colchagua Valley Carmenere 2013

Other Red from Chile
Review Date : 12-Aug-2014
100% Carmenere from 12 y.o. vines, fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 4-6 months in French oak. Dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour. The nose is elegantly proportioned with deep aromas of dark plums and savoury herbs intermingling with fresh blackcurrants and olives. The aromatics are uncomplicated and expressed with clarity. Medium-full bodied, finely presented, juicy and lush flavours of red berry fruits, plums, currants and herbs are supported by fine-grained tannins at the core. The mouthfeel is soft and supple, with good balance and integration of fruit, acidity and structure. The wine flows with good linearity to a fine-textured, long finish. This is an elegant Carmenere with classical red fruit and herb flavours and fine balance. Match with roasted lamb and beef over the next years. 17.0+/20 Aug 2014 RRP $24.95
