Bishops Head Waipara Valley Blanc de Noir 2014

Rose from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 05-Oct-2015
Bright, light salmon-pink colour, lighter on the rim. The nose is light and subtle with delicate red floral aromas intermingling with fresh quince and cranberry fruit notes. This is clean and fine in expression. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the fruit is very light, quite delicate and subtle with flavours of quince and cranberries, along with nuances of strawberries. The mouthfeel is soft with a little richness, and smooth textured with slippery acidity enhancing the flow. A very fine phenolic line emerges and carries the wine to a red floral nuanced, vinous finish. This is a very delicately fruited Blanc de Noir with a soft, smooth core and slippery mouthfeel. Serve as an aperitif and with canapes over the next 2 years. Clone 10/5 Pinot Noir from the ‘Mairehau’ vineyard, hand-picked and fermented to 12.0% alc. and dryness, the wine aged 5 months on lees in old puncheons. 16.5/20 Oct 2015 RRP $21.95
