Deep, inky ruby-red, lighter on the rim. The nose is full and opulent, with aromas of blackcurrant, plum, vine leaf, cedar and spice. Full-bodied, aromas of blackcurrant and plum entwined with vine leaf, menthol, cedar, star anise and nutmeg. The succulent fruit is dense and enriched by spice and cedar. Herbaceous layer of vine leaf and methol added complexity. Ripe and fine-grained tannins haul along with enlivening acidity and lend a gratifying finish. Excellent fruit concentration and ripeness with a fine tannin structure, well-made and satisfying. Match with beef steak and short ribs over the next 5+ years.
