Bird ‘Old Schoolhouse Vineyard’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2010

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 08-Feb-2011
An exceptionally refined Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc that exudes finesse. Very pale straw-yellow in colour with suggestions of green hues, this has a tightly bound nose of English gooseberries, citrus fruit and minerals, lifted with an attractive tropical fruit nuance. Dry on palate, this has subtle, restrained flavours of gooseberries with lime flowers. The acidity is soft and fine and contributes to the beautiful purity. Drink with seafood and Pacific Rim fusion dishes over the next 3-4 years. Cool-fermented to 13.4% alc. with 4.3 g/L rs, 3 months lees contact. 18.5/20 Feb 2011 RRP $24.95
