Fruit from a single vineyard in the Rapaura district, cool-fermented in stainless-steel with a portion in French oak barriques to 13.2% alc. and 3.4 g/L RS, the wine aged 3 months on lees. 4,500 cases made. Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues. The nose is elegant and fresh with soft aromas of gooseberry fruit with some nuances of herbs, minerals and pungent passionfruit in the background. The nose is light, clear and mouthwatering. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, crisp, thirst-quenching acidity is the feature on palate, with tightly bound flavours of gooseberries and limes combining with fresh herb notes forming a good line, revealing some succulence and sweetness. Fine phenolic textures guide the flavours to a brisk and racy, sustained finish. This is a crisp and racy Sauvignon Blanc with tightly bound gooseberry fruit flavours.
