Big Bunch Hawke’s Bay Pinot Gris 2015

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 08-Mar-2016
Bright, very pale straw colour with a suggestion of blush and slight green hues on the edge. The nose is soft and full, with fresh aromas of pear fruit, exotic yellow florals and stonefruits, along with lifted fermentation esters, honeysuckle and nuances of herbs. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, light, up-front flavours of white stonefruits show with nuances of pears, florals and fermentation esters. The mouthfeel is smooth-flowing and the wine follows a fine phenolic thread. Soft acidity lends roundness, and the wine is carried gently to an elegant, lingering finish of florals and white stonefruits. This is a softly full, light-flavoured, off-dry Pinot Gris with white stonefruit and pear flavours. Serve as an aperitif and with Asian cuisine over the next 2+ years. Fruit from Korokipo, fermented in stainless-steel to 11.0% alc., and 6 g/L RS, the wine aged a short time on lees. 16.5/20 Mar 2016 RRP $19.99
