Bethel Heights ‘Casteel Reserve’ Eola-Amity Hills Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2010

Pinot Noir from USA
Review Date : 02-Aug-2013
Dark, deep, purple-hued ruby-red colour, youthful in appearance. This has a fresh, firm and deep nose of dark raspberry fruit aromas with oak and interwoven notes of reductive complexities, providing a solid, bold bouquet. Full-bodied and densely packed with flavours of dark fruits, this has plenty of input with oak and reductive elements intermixed with the fulsome fruit. Some herbal elements emerge with piquant acidity. This is fully and firmly structured with grainy tannins and textures. This is a solid, dense, dark-fruited Pinot Noir featuring structure. 5-7 years. Eola-Amity Hills AVA, 50% clone 114, 20% 667 and 30% Wadenswil clone, vines 11-33 y.o., destemmed, given a cold soak and fermented to 12.8% alc., the wine aged 11 months in 60% new French oak. 270 cases made. 18.0/20 Jul 2013 RRP USD $60.00
